Kickoff Classic
Dear Parents and Guardians, I want to begin by extending my sincerest apologies for the confusion and frustration many of you have experienced regarding bus routes for the start of this school year. The safety of your children is our top priority, and I deeply regret that the communication surrounding their transportation has not met the standards you deserve and expect from us. The information that was shared with you was believed to be accurate at the time of distribution. However, it has become clear that there were significant errors or omissions in the data, which have caused undue stress and concern for many families. I take full responsibility for this situation, and I understand how critical reliable transportation is for our students and families. Please know that our transportation office is working diligently to correct these errors and will provide you with all bus route information as quickly as possible. We understand the impact this has on your daily routines and your peace of mind, and we are committed to making things right. Moving forward, we are taking immediate steps to ensure that our communication is clear, accurate, and timely. We are also implementing additional checks and safeguards to prevent this kind of issue from occurring again in the future. Your trust is important to us, and we are dedicated to restoring it through improved communication, transparency, and an unwavering focus on student safety. We will keep you informed of any further updates, and we appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through these challenges. The updated link for bus routes is listed below: https://lancastercsdsc.sites.thrillshare.com/o/safety-transportation/page/safety-transportation-bus-routes If you have any questions or need further assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out to the transportation office. We are here to support you and your children every step of the way. Thank you for your continued partnership and for entrusting us with the care of your children. Yours for Excellence in Education, Raashad Fitzpatrick, Ed.D. Superintendent Lancaster County School District

Parents you will receive an email this evening with your child’s bus numbers. If your child is a car rider, you will see a “C” for both morning and afternoon transportation. This week's SuperChix SuperTeacher of the Week is Ms. Hale!! She works hard for her students and ensures lessons are prepared each day. She is working and planning even after the school doors close in the evenings. There is no doubt she loves her students! Here’s why her students think she is deserving: “She’s really sweet to me.” “She always gives us good grades” and “buys us cool toys for indoor recess.” “I’m reading at a second grade level!” Thank you, Super Chix Indian Land, for helping us recognize another of our amazing teachers!

This week's SuperChix SuperTeacher of the Week is Ms. Lindley!! She individualizes her instruction to support her students with prepared lessons. She is a school leader, presenting at the school and district level. She has led the iLead program at ILE and made connections for our school with the state and will be attending a national conference soon to represent our students and teachers’ hard work. Here’s why her students think she is deserving: “She teaches us every single moment of the day.” “She makes us smarter” and “teaches us life lessons.” “She teaches us stuff we learn in higher grades.” “She makes us smart pickles [a Number Rock reference]” “She’s the best teacher in the world.” “She tries her best” and “is a hardworking teacher.” “She keeps us safe.” “She makes sure we get it right, even when it’s hard.” “She loves all of us, loves us to the heart.” Thank you, Super Chix Indian Land, for helping us recognize another of our amazing teachers!

Due to the threat of inclement weather, Lancaster County School District has designated Tuesday, January 9, 2024, as an E-Learning Day for all schools and offices. There will not be any afterschool activities on Tuesday, January 9, 2024. Again, Tuesday, January 9, 2024, will be an E-Learning Day for all employees and students. This is over safety concerns of the potential for severe weather in our area. Based on weather guidance, we could experience heavy rainfall, flash flooding, damaging winds, and the possibility of tornadoes. The latest weather predictions show parts of our county getting winds of up to 30 mph with wind gusts exceeding 40 mph. If this comes to fruition, we will face dangers operating school buses and in transportation in general. We will continue to monitor the weather and take any necessary safety precautions as warranted to keep our students safe. For more specifics for your student, your student’s teacher and school will send more information. This early notice will allow everyone to make the necessary arrangements for tomorrow. We will continue to monitor the weather, and we will keep you informed through Remind texts and the district website. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. As always, keeping our students and staff safe is our number one priority.
