We will be having a PTO 101/Nomination meeting on Tuesday, March 20th at 6:30 p.m. in the cafeteria.  We will be discussing the open positions on the board for next year.  Nomination forms will be available at this meeting for those that are interested in nominating themselves or someone they feel would be a great fit.  Elections will take place Tuesday, April 3 at 6:30 p.m..  You must be an ILE PTO member in good standing in order to vote.
For those families that will be heading to Van Wyck Elementary, we will have a sign up form  at the meeting for those of you interested in becoming part of their PTA/PTO and will pass that information to those helping set it up.  Thank you for your support!
We hope to see you there!!!

ILE Boosterthon Information

Hey ILE (and future Van Wyck Elem.) Families!

As the ILE Boosterthon event approaches, the PTO needs you to help us pull off this awesomely fun school fundraising event!

You can see the tons of volunteer spots and detailed options of how you can volunteer and you can sign up on the link listed below!  Go ahead, click the link, get signed up to reserve your spot now!

The PTO uses our Boosterthon fundraiser to teach our kids about the values of raising money for the good of the students and the good of the school.  In the past, our ILE PTO has used the Boosterthon money to replace and improve playgrounds, purchase ipads and macbooks for different grade levels, purchase Lucy Caulkins teaching materials for different grade levels, purchase Mathseeds & Reading Eggs & Razkids for all grade levels, purchase & install the Gagapitts, purchase special seating for classrooms, provide our teachers with meals on teacher conference days and with a cake on their birthday, and to show appreciation to our office staff, bus drivers and to our custodial staff, and much more!  All of your donations are used for a great cause and are used and truly appreciated by the kids, teachers and staff at ILE!

DADS!!!!  Just think how much laughter you would induce if you were dressed as a prize fairy to deliver prizes daily to the kiddos!!!  The kids would LOVE you!!!!  It’s lots of fun to be a prize fairy and the more the merrier, come on out and join us!!!

YAY Boosterthon Volunteers!!!  I can’t wait to have you helping me and I look forward to the fun we are going to have together!

All my very best,

Kerry Peddle
PTO Volunteer Coordinator

P.S. If you are more of an introvert and want to do some behind the scenes volunteering, you can contact me directly via email at kerrylew@ilepto.com and I will ask you to help out with some crafty posters or cutting or updating some of the bulletin boards at the school and I’ll give you the details about how quiet and chill the money collection and data entry days are and then you can consider volunteering for those services.  We like all personality types on the PTO and we welcome you to help out too!

Update Your Contact Information!

posted Feb 23, 2018, 9:46 AM by iles webmaster

It is important for our school to have the most up-to-date contact information on file for your student. Over the summer, we will be sending information and class placement letters via email to parents.  We will NOT mail letters home this year!!  We are requesting that you update your phone numbers and email addresses for parents, guardians and emergency contacts.  This can be accomplished online using your Parent Portal account. Please follow the directions below to update/verify this data for your students. Note:  This link is not available in the PowerSchool App.  You must log into the Portal through a browser.

How do I get started?
Access the PowerSchool Parent Portal (https://lancastercsd.powerschool.com). From the Parent Portal:

  1. Select the student you wish to update at the top of the page.
  2. Select the 2017-2018 YRU Icon on the left side menu near the bottom of the page.
  3. Agree to the terms and conditions
  4. Click Begin Forms

If you don't have an existing account and need to create your Powerschool Parent Portal for the first time:

You must have the individual student's access id and password. Many schools provide this on the student report card.  If not, you will have to contact the school. Once you have this information, access the PowerSchool Parent Portal. From the Parent Portal, click on the Create account tab and Create account button. Enter information in the fields listed. Then, link students to your account by entering each individual students access id and password.

Do I have to answer all the questions?
Questions marked with a red asterisk (*) are required.

I’ve completed the form, now what?
Once you have finished entering your information click “Submit.” This will send all of the information you’ve entered to the school. If you cannot click on this button you will need to make sure that you have answered all required questions.

What if I have more than one student in the district? Do I need to do this for each child?
Yes you will need to provide information that is specific to each child.  We recommend that you complete and submit one form and then start another. This will allow you to “snap” (or share) selected family information, which saves you time.

My contact information has changed again.
This form can be comleted as many times as necessary throughout the school year.

Help! I’m on the form and I'm having technical difficulties.
For technical support, visit infosnapzendesk.com or click "Contact Us" from any form page.

Spirit Day!

posted Feb 22, 2018, 7:40 AM by iles webmaster

Our February Spirit Day is tomorrow!!  Students can wear a Spirit Day shirt with their choice of bottoms.  Students can also pay 50 cents to wear a hat.  For February our hat money will be donated to a parent of three students who attend Indian Land Area schools (one is currently at ILES) who was recently diagnosed with cancer and is currently undergoing treatments. As you can imagine, this puts many stresses on the family, and we would like to show them support from the school community.  The hat money donations sent in for February spirit day will directly benefit this family.  Our Spirit Day is TOMORROW, FRIDAY, February 23.  Thanks so much for your help!!

Indian Land Elementary and Van Wyck Elementary will register NEW students and kindergarten students at Indian Land Elementary on Tuesday, February 27th.

Current Harrisburg students that will attend Indian Land Elementary next year will not need to register, we will send these records directly to Indian Land Elementary after this school year ends.  Only NEW students and kindergarten students will need to register at Harrisburg.

Registration is a two step process.  Registration should begin online (which can be completed at home or at the school) and supporting documents will need to be submitted at the school to finalize registration.

If questions, please call ILE at (803)548-2916.

Volunteers Needed!

posted Feb 21, 2018, 8:32 AM by iles webmaster

We have lots of opportunities to volunteer for the PTO Ice Cream Sales each Friday we are in school!

Remember, you do not have to be an “approved volunteer” as the children are being supervised by their teachers, and there is absolutely no experience required!  It is super easy, fun and a lot of times kind of funny too!  You are guaranteed to be a popular parent if you join us in selling ice cream to the kids every Friday of the school year!  You will arrive @1010am and make sure all is ready for sales, fill the ice cream stand if needed, count money and finish up @1:20pm.  Don't worry if you've never done it before, Danielle Fleck, our PTO Ice Cream Extraordinaire, will meet with you in the cafeteria at 10:10am for a 5 minute meeting, to go over the details and show you the ropes.  Fridays are a favorite for the parents & kiddos, so make sure to sign up to secure your spot!  Don’t forget, Dads are definitely welcome and encouraged to volunteer too!  (And, don’t forget to wear your close-toed shoes.)

I’ve added an additional volunteer needed to the sign up, as so far this year we have had lots of last minute cancellations due to illness.  So this way, we will have an extra person signed up each week and hopefully we will have the coverage we actually need each Friday (which is 3 people working the cart).  So there are available spots for each week from now until the end of the school year!    Get your signup spot locked in now by checking the link below!

Thank you so much for your commitment to supporting our PTO, our kids and our school!
